  • This is a very commonly asked question on the internet so I’ll be as clear as possible while answering it. You see the UGC NET subject that you’ll select will have to be the one that you have done your graduation and post-graduation in. You cannot apply for a UGC NET exam of any other subject.

    However, in case the subject that you had done your post-graduation in, isn’t listed as one of the official UGC NET subjects, then you may apply for the subject on the UGC NET list, nearest to the one you have post-graduated in.
    So, yeah. Make sure that you choose your UGC NET subject carefully. List of Net Subjects and their Codes in which an applicant can take the exam.
