LNAT Exam Pattern, Insights and Details



National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT) is conducted by UK University to give a fair chance to the candidates at the undergraduate level to check the potential of studying law, no matter what the educational background, the candidate has. The selection process consists of certain levels and the exam pattern will have two papers- First paper 42 Multiple Choice Questions and Second paper will be the Essay Writing of duration 95 minutes and 40 minutes respectively. The candidate can sit for LNAT only once a year by applying on the official website. The exam will take place on 1 Aug 2020. To Prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt LNAT Exam previous year question papers.

LNAT: Exam pattern

  • LNAT test will be of 42 marks.
  • The exam is divided in two papers.
  • Total duration of First paper will be 95 minutes.
  • Total duration of Second paper will be 40 minutes.

    • Second Section of Essay Writing with word limit of 750.

Syllabus: LNAT

Paper 1- The MCQs will be based on the passages in form of argument. An issue will put forward and arguments will be made either for or against the motion. The basic knowledge of English will be needed.

Paper 2- The paper 2 will be about Essay Writing dealing with various topics. The candidate needs to put brief and concise arguments. The word limit of the essay should be 750 words.

Preparation tips for LNAT

  • You need to finish three sections of LNAT Exam within 135 minutes, which means you need speed with accuracy in order to attempt all the questions. The more you practice, the better chances you have of acing this exam.
  • Remember negative marking is not a factor here. Therefore, try not to attempt all the questions.
  • Manage your time properly; give appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
