Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a test which tests a person's ability in English by checking different aspects: Analytical, Verbal, Quantitative. 
This exam is basically given by students who want to pursue their post-graduation in Science and Technology outside India. GRE is similar to SAT and GMAT.
