Industrial bioremediation is used to clean wastewater. Most treatment systems rely on microbial activity to remove unwanted mineral nitrogen compounds (i.e. ammonia,nitrite, nitrate). The removal of nitrogen is a two stage process that involves nitrification and denitrification.
