  • LAN=Local Area Network refers connection of many computers of an local area like schools,offices,etc. Whereas WAN=Wide Area Network refers connection of many computers of a city,town,etc.

For example, network in an office building. Whereas WAN is a computer network covering a broad geographical area. For example, the internet.
