  • AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test)  is a national level entrance exam conducted every year for admissions in MBBS & BDS Programmes. It has now been renamed as NEET(National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG). It is conducted by the CBSE( Central Board of Secondary education). This exam is the national level undergraduate medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS & BDS programs.

    Eligibility Criteria for NEET:

    Educational Qualifications:
    Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English as mandatory subjects in their 10+2 grade.
    Must have scored a minimum of 50% in both 10th and 12th grade.
    ​Age Limit:
    ​There is no upper age limit for candidates but the minimum age is 17 years.
    Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Foreign Nationals

  • The required Educational Qualification is the clearance of Higher Secondary Education in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized college with minimum aggregate 50% marks for OBC/General UR category candidates while for SC/ST/PH/Reserved category candidates need to have aggregate 40% marks in the above-mentioned subjects. Candidates who have completed their graduation with B.Sc. can also apply for AIPMT (now NEET).

    The age limit, however, differs from category to category: For OBC/General it is 17 to 25, For SC/ST/PH/Reserved category it is 17 to 30 years and for reserved category candidate the age relaxation is of 5 years. Earlier the total number of attempts for category candidates is 3 but now there is no limit except the Age.

  • The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance (AIPMT) was an annual medical entrance exam admission for medical and dental courses like MBBS and BDS at several medical colleges across the country. It was conducted by CBSE.
    AIPMT was conducted for admission to 15% of the total seats in all medical and dental colleges in India run by Central and State governments/local authorities 

    As per eligibility criteria for NEET (AIPMT) 2018, students should be at least 17 years old on December 31, 2018 to be eligible for admission to MBBD or BDS course. The upper age limit has been capped as 25 years old. A relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is given to SC, ST and OBC category students. It means that reserved category students are eligible for the exam till the age of 30 years.
