  • IIM Ahmdabad is very famous world wide for its quality education. So if you try to get it you must have scored more percentile in CAT exam and your academic background is also excellent. Any person who eligible to get admission in IIM -A and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi then he/she will choose only IIM -A. For average academic background FMS Delhi is better option. In matter of academic fees FMS Delhi is better option because it's total fees is 100 time less than IIM A. on the other hand average campus placement almost same.

  • Although the ROI of FMS is far better than IIMs, but IIM A, B, and C for me will always be on top of any MBA college in India. not only with the brand name, but also the companies that come for the campus in A, B, C are top class as compared to FMS, XLRI or any other MBA colleges

  • Even though FMS is one of the top B Schools, IIM A is better any day, and ideally there should be no comparison between IIM A and FMS.
However, it should be noted that, while there are many people who choose IIM A over FMS, there are 8–10 people every year who choose FMS over IIM A. The only reason being FMS’ ROI (return on investment). I doubt there is any B-School worldwide, which charges you $625 (Rs. 42000) as tuition fee and gives you an average placement of above $30,000 (Rs. 20 lakhs) on an ongoing basis year after year.
Having said all that, given a choice, I think one should choose IIM A over FMS blindly. IIM A’s brand name, pedagogy and peer network would be more helpful in the long run than saving a few thousand dollars on tuition fee.

  • The answer is pretty straight forward. If your academic profile is average as I don’t know about your grades so I am here assuming that you do meet IIM-A's minimum eligibility criteria that is 10th (minimum 80) 12th (min 77 or commerce and 80 for science) and check what is your application rating under your respective graduation field. Only when you meet the minimum criteria is when you have a shot at IIM-A. Otherwise, the comparison does not even hold. Additionally, you also have to consider sectional cut offs, IIM-A would probably require 85 percentile in each section probably higher. So again you might have a crazy high percentile but may not clear certain sections. Another road block.
But when it comes to FMS faculty of management studies delhi, the road is much easier, crack the CAT exam, and later on kill it at the PI, if you manage to do both, congrats mate you are at FMS, a Top 10 college of our country, so as you mentioned that your profile is average, then FMS is easier than IIM-A.
