The right mantra to score 99+ percentile in XAT exam is to have a clear cut strategy for each section whether it is verbal and logical ability, quantitative ability and data interpretation, decision making. These are the sections in the first part of the paper while the second paper consists of essay and general knowledge.
Though it is believed that people from science and engineering background , have an edge over other candidates. However, it is not correct. The most important thing before a candidate begins his preparation is self -assessment. Candidates are required to analyse which are their strong areas and work continuously on it by taking maximum mock tests. For every section one must strengthen their fundamentals. If your fundamentals, whether in English or Quantitative Ability is concerned, no matter how tough the question is, you will be able to crack the exam.
Be Focussed- In Mahabharata, the way Arjun focussed on the eye of the fish while using a bow and arrow, similarly, those who score 99 + percentile do the same. they do not do anything different. You might be studying for 8–10 hours but if you are not studying the right material, then you are at a loss. It will be better that you study for 4–5 hours, but study from the right material, so that you are able to gauge your preparation .
Take more and more Mock tests- There is a saying that practice makes the man perfect. If you take more mock tests, it will be better for you as it will equip you to handle the questions well on the d-day. At the same time, merely taking the mock tests is not everything, identify your weak areas at the earliest and try to overcome your mistakes.
Destress yourself - Do not let stress overpower yourself during the preparation of XAT. If you keep your cool, the toughest of questions will be a cakewalk for you and if you press the panic button then in that case, the easiest of questions might become very tough for you.
