The total number of attempts for Civil Service applicants preparing for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam has been increased from 4 to 6 and the maximum age limit has been increased from 30 to 32.
and for IIT JEE Mains : Originally every candidate has a maximum of three attempts for JEE Main. Candidates can appear twice for the entrance test in a year. So this is used in correlation with the original number of attempts, from 2019 onwards
