  • General Awareness (GA or GK) section is a very important section in SSC CHSL Tier-1 exam. GA section comprises of 25 questions worth 50 marks.
    CHSL Tier 1 GK = 50/200* 100 = 25% weightage.
I have seen most of the aspirants of SSC CHSL ignores GK section. Why?
    1.
Simply because they do not know what to study (Vast syllabus).
    2.
Due to the huge syllabus, aspirants think that they should focus on other 3 portions and do well in Tier-2.
    3.
Many students read some market GK book, that too only once. They think that they would score 10-12 marks here.
    4.
    There are many different approaches.
This is one of the biggest mistake made by aspirants at the first stage itself. Why?
    1.
50 marks of GK can be covered in 7-10 minutes if one is well prepared. Good if you score 30+ in GK.
    2.
GK portion has become easier as compared to previous years when 50 questions used to come. More Current Affairs are being asked now.
    3.
If one prepares for GK in an organized manner, he can easily score 30-35 marks. These 30-35 marks provide an edge. The edge which everybody wants.
    4.
This edge in GK can make one score in the range of 160-170.
    5.
The competition has increased so much that 150 marks have become very common.
