CTET Exam Pattern, Insights, Correction and Application Details



If you wish to become a teacher on government payroll then Central Teacher Eligibility Test is your answer. CTET is conducted by CBSE every year. After clearing CTET one becomes a Central government teacher for Class 1 to 5 or Class 6 to 8. The official notification about CTET has been released and the application process will begin from 24 Jan 2020 and will end on 9 March 2020. There are two CTET test papers in the exam; Paper-I for Class 1 to 5 and Paper-II for Class 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 have to take both tests. The CTET 2020 Exam Pattern is going to be of multiple-choice questions. CTET (both Papers) exam will contain 150 questions with the prescribed time limit of two and a half hours. CTET will be conducted at various centers across India in the offline mode. Although, the mode of filling the application form is online on the official website of CTET. The candidate needs to give three different options for the examination centers in order of their preferences.  CTET also serves as a qualifying exam which makes a candidate further eligible for other exams for teachers like TGT, PGT, BTC, and NTT. A candidate who qualifies CTET will have seven years as the validity period of his CTET certificate for the appointment. In addition, a candidate can attempt the CTET exam for any number of times to qualify the test and a candidate can appear again for the exam just to improve the previous score.

CTET Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Age is 18 years and there is no maximum age for this exam.
The applicant needs to fulfill the below-mentioned requirements in order to appear for CTET 2020. Please note that the eligibility criteria depends purely on the Class for which the candidate is applying:
(i) Primary Level
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education. OR
 
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.
 
(ii) Upper Primary Level
Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR

Exam Pattern CTET


CTET Exam Pattern Paper 1 
Number of sections in this exam is five; Child development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, Language – 1, Language – 2 and Environmental Studies.
Each section will contain 30 questions for 30 marks each.

CTET Exam Pattern Paper 1 
Number of sections in this exam is four; Child development & Pedagogy, Language – 1, Language – 2, Science & Mathematics OR Social Science
Each section will contain 30 questions for 30 marks each. Except for Science & Mathematics OR Social Science section, it will have 60 questions for 60 marks.

Duration: 150 minutes
 
All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. There will be no negative marking.
There will be two papers of CTET.
(i)                  Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii)                Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
 
A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

CTET Selection Procedure:


The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.
School Managements (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently-abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
CTET/TET Qualifying Marks for
·         General category is 60 % and passing marks 90
·         OBC/SC/ST is 55 %  and passing marks 82

Tips and Tricks CTET 

•             Maintain Focus: Make a strategy to manage time and stress. Try to complete exam fifteen minutes before so you have enough time to review your answers.
