Common Entrance Test Delhi Polytechnic 2020, details, Exam Pattern and Insights
Common Entrance Test (CET) 2020 or the Delhi Polytechnic entrance exam is the gateway for aspirants who wish to pursue full time diploma courses in engineering and non-engineering couses. Department of Training and Technical Education has released application forms for inviting admissions for the academic session 2020 - 21 for various Full-time Diploma programmes. Board of Technical Education (BTE), a government undertaking under the Department of Training & Technical Education Delhi will regulate the CET 2020 examination. The Board has various Government Polytechnics, Privately Managed Polytechnics and Government Aided Institutions affiliated with it. Apart from full-time Diploma Courses in Engineering / Technology, BTE (Board of Technical Education) also offers admissions to other disciplines such as Occupational and ITI/Secretarial / Management based at different AICTE approved Institutions. Delhi Polytechnic entrance exam 2020 is a state level examination which will be conducted in offline mode, that is, the exam will be pen and paper based containing 150 objective-type questions in it. There will be negative marking as well. Candidates can expect the medium of the exam to be Bilingual. There will be different tests for different Diploma courses; TEST 1 will be held for all Engineering/Technology based Diploma Courses & Occupational Courses, TEST 2 will be held for all Diploma Course in Modern Office Practice–English, TEST 3 will be held for all Diploma Course in Modern Office Practice–Hindi and TEST 4 will be held for all Diploma Course in Pharmacy. Also, there is a provision for Lateral Entry (For admission directly in 2nd Year). Interested candidates are advised to go through the “INFORMATION BULLETIN for Admission to Full-Time Diploma Programmes in Various Institutes affiliated to Board of Technical Education, Delhi” for detailed information on all courses. To Prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt CET Exam previous year question papers.
CET Delhi Exam Pattern
Exam Mode: CET Delhi will be conducted as pen and paper-based test.
Number of Questions: The question paper will consist total 150 questions.
Type of Questions: Only objective type questions will be asked in the examination.
Language: For test 1, 4 and 5, the medium of question paper will be English and Hindi (Bilingual). For test 2, the question paper medium will be English only and for test 3, the medium will be Hindi only.
Exam Duration: The duration of the examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.
Marking Scheme: Candidate will receive 4 marks for each correct answer.
Negative Marking: For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
Exam Centers: The exam centres will be only in Delhi.
There will be online counseling for the candidates who qualify CET 2020. Aadhaar card is a must for participating in counseling sessions.
Candidates will be required to pay Rs. 700/- (Non-refundable) + Rs 15/-bank charges + Rs 3/- (GST) as processing fee for counselling. Then the candidates must register themselves.
Candidates can check the allotment of seats after logging in, if a candidate is allotted a seat then that candidate must take out the print out of the Provisional Allotment Letter as proof.
The candidate will also be required to get their documents verified. After each round of counseling, candidates must freeze the seats allotted to them or next higher preferences will be considered automatically in case a candidate chooses bot to freeze his/her seat.
After one, two or three rounds, there can be a spot round if seats are still left vacant.
