How should we prepare for Gate electrical engineering without coaching?

Give yourself a decent start. Try solving questions in youth4work, Indiabix, Cocubes etc. Solve state level technical exams, previous year question papers of your universities and never forget to prepare notes.
Level up by GATE previous year question papers.
Solve problems from standard books.
Study in group; help each other to help yourself.
Write technical exams, during preparation too one can write these exams.
Manage your time well, memorize formulae and numerical values.
Divide syllabus into sub-topics, allot fix time to each sub-topic, for example, 20 minutes per topic.
Experiment with questions and find new tricks to solve questions. Revise daily.
