SRM JEEE Exam Pattern, Insights, Details and Previous year papers



SRM University or Sri Ramaswami Memorial University which conducts Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRM JEEE) each year for B. Tech and M. Tech admissions on campuses; SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Chennai), Amaravati campus of SRM University (Andhra Pradesh) and SRM University (Haryana). Around 7000 seats will be filled (including all four campuses) in 2020 through SRM JEEE for undergraduate admissions alone. The slot booking for SRM JEEE admit cards had already begun from April 10 to 22, 2020 and the university also released the Admit Cards for download on the same dates for candidates who were successful in booking their slots by meeting all the requirements (educational & otherwise) prescribed by the SRM University. SRM University will be conducting an SRM JEE entrance test for undergraduate courses. The exam will be held in online mode and the question paper will in the English language only. The duration of the exam is known to be of two and a half hours. The type of questions that will be asked in the exam are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering a total of four sections, namely; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology. There will be a choice between Math and Biology sections. And the best part about this exam is that there is no negative marking for wrong answers whatsoever. But the catch here is that candidates who wish to take this entrance examination will have to book their test slots first by taking part in Slot Booking Process for SRM JEEE and only after successful Slot Booking, Admit Cards would be allotted to the candidates aspiring for admissions through SRM JEE. To Prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt SRM JEE Exam previous year question papers.

SRMJEEE Eligibility 

Nationality: Residents of India/ NRI

Qualifying Examination

  • Passed with minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or appearing in the current academic year with PCM/PCB as major subjects in full-time regular from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE.

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) with Diploma, or A-level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Botany & Zoology/ Biotechnology as major subjects in any International schools.

  • Candidates who have not studied Mathematics as one of the subjects in 11 and 12 are eligible to appear only for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering programs.

 

Exam Pattern: SRMJEEE 

  • Language: English Only
  • Test mode: Online (Computer-based test)
  • Duration: 2 : 30 hours
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Aptitude. Candidates opting for B.Tech Biotechnology have to appear for Biology instead of Maths.
  • Type of Questions: Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) with four options. One option is the correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: No

Part 1 : Physics: 35 MCQs for 1 marks each                     

Part 2 : Chemistry: 35 MCQs for 1 marks each                  

Part 3 : Mathematics: 40 MCQs for 1 marks each              

Part 4 : Biology (only for B.Tech Biotechnology aspirants): 40 MCQs for 1 marks each

Part 5 : English : 5 MCQS for 1 mark each

Part 6 : Aptitude : 10 MCQs for 1 mark each

English Language and Aptitude

Tips and Tricks SRM JEEE

You need speed to finish SRM JEEE exam within prescribed time limit. Practise Physics and Mathematics problems by memorising formulas. After each study session keep 1 hour for revision of topics learned/practised.
 
•             Make mathematics your strong suit, practise questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. The trick here is to mug up math formulas by heart, so they come in handy while solving a problem.

•             Remember negative marking is not a factor here. Therefore, try to attempt all questions.

•             Manage your time properly; give appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practising as many online tests as possible.
