PU Travel and Hospitality Aptitude Test: Exam Pattern, Insights and Details
Aspirants who are thinking of beginning a promising career in the fields of hospitality and tourism, should think about taking the upcoming Punjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT), which is conducted by the Punjab University on yearly basis, the next entrance test is scheduled for June 19, 2020 (10 a.m. - 11.30 a.m.) for admissions to undergraduate courses related to Tourism and Hospitality. As per eligibility criteria, the candidates must have passed 10+2 in any discipline from a recognized board. The exam will be of 90 minutes and will have four sections: English Aptitude, Current Affairs & General Awareness, Reasoning Ability and Hospitality Industry Awareness. Syllabus: PUHAT Exam 2020
- English section–
Word substitution, spelling corrections, synonyms, Antonyms, sequence forming, convert the speech of the sentence from indirect to direct and direct to indirect, Passage Reading.
- Current affairs-
Science and the Environment, Sports Personalities, Eminent Personalities, Instruments, Fundamental Rights, Top Brands, Crops and Cultivation, Awards and Trophies, Telecommunication, Signed MoUs, Global Agreements, Celebrated days, Railways and Connections, Social Media.
- Logical Reasoning–
Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Relation, Finding Age, Coding/ Decoding, Pattern, Blood Relations, Statement and Conclusions, Bar Charts, pie charts, Assumptions.
- Hospitality industry awareness–
front office, identification of vouchers, food production, housekeeping and laundry operations, food and beverages, personality and communication development, hygiene and sanitation.
Preparation tips for PUHAT Exam 2020

You need to finish 4 sections of the PUHAT Exam within 90 minutes, which means you need speed with accuracy in order to attempt 100 questions in total. The more you practice, the better chances you have of acing this exam.

Remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, try not to attempt those questions which put you in doubt.

Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
