Ashoka Aptitude Test AAT Exam Details, Eligibility Criteria, Previous Year Question Papers Download



Ashoka University conducts Ashoka Aptitude Test AAT  for admissions in the Ashoka University affiliated courses. The Registration process will be held from January 2020 to 31 July 2020. This online test of AAT demands no application fees. Candidate should have passed 12th examinations in any stream. In the duration of 90 minutes, a candidate appearing for AAT need to prepare for four sections that are Logical Reasoning  Verbal Aptitude Quantitative or Numerical Aptitude Data Interpretation. Out of a total of 75 marks, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Aptitude carries 25 questions while Quantitative Aptitude carries 20 questions. Lastly only 5 questions fall in the section of Data Interpretation.

Educational Qualification:

The Eligibility for Applying for AAT should have passed 12th examinations in ay stream from a recognized board.

Ashoka Aptitude Test AAT: Exam Pattern

Type: Computer Based test (Online Mode)

Duration: The duration of the AAT exam will be of 90 minutes.

No. of Questions: 75 Objective type questions.

Syllabus Covered: The Syllabus includes: 

  • Logical Reasoning- carries 25 questions

  • Verbal Aptitude- carries 25 questions

  • Quantitative or Numerical Aptitude- carries 20 questions

  • Data Interpretation- carries 5 questions

Marking Scheme: 1 marks will be awarded for every correct answer.

Ashoka Aptitude Test AAT: Syllabus

Logical Reasoning-

Family Relationships, Sequencing and Arrangements (Linear, Circular or Matrix), Coding and Decoding, Cubes, Selection Criteria, Input-Output, Directions, Syllogism, Comparatives, Series

Verbal Aptitude-

Synonyms and Antonyms, Analogies, Para Jumbles, Sentence Correction, Spotting Errors, Usage of Idioms and Phrasal Verbs, Critical Reasoning

Quantitative Aptitude-

Percentages, Simple and Compound Interest, Averages, Ratios and Proportions, Distance and Speed, Time and Work, and Profit, Loss, and Discounts. The questions on Algebra may be on Polynomials, Linear-quadratic Equations and Arithmetic Progressions, Triangles, Circles and Constructions, Trigonometry would include Trigonometric Ratios and Identities, Heights, and Distances. Coordinate Geometry would include topics like the Distance between two points, Mid-points and Gradients. Mensuration would largely cover Area and Perimeter of Plane Figures, Surface Area, Volume of simple 3D objects

Data Interpretation-

Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, Pie Charts, Tables and Charts with relevant data

  • After each study session keeps 1 hour for revision of topics learned/practiced. Learn every section by writing over and over.

  • Make mathematics your strong suit, practice questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. The trick here is to mug up math formulas by heart, so they come in handy while solving a problem.

  • Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But don’t attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, only attempt a question if you really know the answer to.

  • Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
