I was one of the Placement Representatives (PR) at AIT for 2008-2012 batch. I used to maintain full data of our batch. I was responsible to keep a track of the number of placements done during the year, and believe me, it was good. Placements in AIT are good in terms of percent of students placed (not number of students placed. It is the percentage that matters)
Before our batch, the Placement Officer (PO) was a colonel, and our seniors say that he was too good in getting students placed at any cost. PRs before me had shared their data which was almost always close to 100%. If someone could not get placed, it was primarily due to his/her own mistakes (Like backlogs in subjects, or extremely low aggregate) where college is helpless. Even if you are average in studies, you are guaranteed to get placed.
During our batch, AIT management hired a professional civilian PO with whom, we PRs had to coordinate. Initially we felt his methods very unpleasing. But by the end of the year, it turned out that he not only got almost the entire batch placed, but had improved college's reputation in many more MNCs too. He still is the PO of AIT even after 4 years since then. I get to see on fb posts of AIT Alumni pages that college is still doing great.
Here is a sample capture of the XLS file I had maintained those years. Since then, number of companies and CTC have also increased.
