What role does the prelim marks have on final selection?

  preliminary exam is a just selection process its marks is not included in the final selection

  The prelim marks are only for qualifying purposes. It has no role in final selection. However keeping a high marks would certainly keep your chances up as it would have a positive psychological effect.
  Rest it does not have any material role.
