can any 1 xplain me about armature reaction in simple manner.what really happens in this concept? ?

  • armature reaction it means when the current is flowing in the armature winding then we know that it developed its own flux and also we know that according to lenz law it oppose the main flux make try to week then due to that the two effects are occurs 1:- demagnetising and cross magnetising effect due to these effect the MNA get shifted .

  • effect of armature flux on main field flux is known as armature reaction. we know field winding of dc machine play vital role for over all operation. when both winding energised then armature winding give two effects on field winding i.e cross and demagnitizing effect. cross effect distorted field winding while demagnising effect reduce the voltage.

Either Magnetization or De-magnetization or Cross-magnetization. Each case has different effect on main flux. This whole reaction is called Armature Reaction.
