  • Indian Air Force Group X and Y: Eligibility
    The eligibility varies as per the Group of trade. Group 'X' Airmen for Technical Trades require a 10+2 with PCM or a Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institute. For Group 'X' Education Instructor Trade, candidates need a Graduation and a B. Ed. / Two years of teaching experience. For Group 'Y' Trades (police, defense etc.), candidates require a 10+2 or equivalent in Science, Arts, or Commerce. Here is the detail of the eligibility qualifications:
    Nationality: Indian and Nepalese
    Gender: Male
    Marital Status: Unmarried
    Upper Age Limit: 21 Years

  • Nationality / Citizenship: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
     
    Age of the candidate: 
    The candidate must be born between 14 July 1998 and 26 June 2002 (both days inclusive)
    No age relaxation
     
    Educational Qualification:
    The candidate must have completed the intermediate (10+2) level with English, Mathematics, and Physics as subjects and must have passed 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
     
    Or
     
    The candidate must have completed a 3-year diploma in Engineering from any stream and must have passed from Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
     
    Medical Standards:
    Height (minimum): 152.5 cms
    Chest (minimum): 5 cm
    Weight: Proportionate to height and age
    Dental: Healthy gums, minimum 14 dental points and a good set of teeth
    Hearing: Should have normal hearing
    Corneal Surgery: Not acceptable
    Health:  Should be of normal anatomy
     
    Other Criteria's:
    Permanent body tattoos not permitted (except on inner face of the forearms, back, and Tribals with tattoos as per their customs and traditions)

A candidate can join airforce as an officer by qualifying UPSC NDA, UPSC CDSE, NCC SPECIAL ENTRY (AIRFORCE WING for C certificate holders) or AFCAT(conducted by Indian Airforce). Nationality: The appearing candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan. A Tibetan refugee came to India before 01 January 1962 with a mindset to become a permanent resident of India are also eligible. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, SriLanka, Pakistan & East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply. Eligibility Criteria For AFCAT: 1) Flying Branch ( 205/19F/SSC/M&W Courses) Age: 20 to 24 years as on 01st Jan, 2019 (born between 02nd Jan, 1995 to 01st Jan, 1999) both dates inclusive. Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (Indian) is relaxable upto 26 years (born between 02nd Jan, 1995 to 01st Jan, 1999) both dates inclusive Educational Qualifications: Graduates (minimum 3 years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or B.E./B.Tech degree (4 year course) from a recognized university.
