What is the Cutoff or Expected Cutoff for the VITEEE?

How many marks are required to qualify the VITEEE and get admission in the Vellore Institute of Technology?

  • Cutoff or Expected Cutoff for the VITEEE:

    This is a noticeable point that the VIT will not announce any official cutoff marks for the admission process. There will be a rank awarded to the candidates on the basis of the VITEEE Score for admission in BTech. 

    The candidates whose rank will be under the closing rank will be only considered eligible for admission. The candidates who obtained above the closing rank will not be considered eligible for admission to the Vellore Institute of Technology Campuses.

    The rank will be calculated in the percentile-based method and it depends on the following factors like difficulty level of the entrance exam, availability of seats, the no of candidates attended the exam etc. The counselling will be conducted in offline mode after the announcement of the results. 

    Program wise cutoff by rank for 2018 admission at Vellore Campus:

    1. Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 15500
    2. Biotechnology: 20000
    3. Production and Industrial Engineering: 50000
    4. Information Technology: 12000
    5. Electronics and Communication Engineering with specialisation: 14800
    6. Mechanical Engineering: 19500
    7. Computer Science and Engineering: 7000
    8. Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Information Security: 7500
    9. Civil Engineering: 53000
    10. Mechanical with specialisation in Automotive Engineering: 12300
    11. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering: 18500
    12. Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Bioinformatics: 13500
    13. Chemical Engineering: 19500
    14. Electronics and Communication Engineering: 14500.
