SPSAT Exam: Exam Pattern, Insights and Details





Sir Padampat Singhania University conducts its online entrance exam annually to allow the entry of eligible candidates into UG and PG degree programmes; the university offers a variety of courses in the fields of engineering (BTech & MTech: Biotechnology, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Mining and Rail Transportation), management (BBA, MBA), B Com Hons, M Sc in Math and Physics and also offers doctoral level programmes in various streams. The entrance is called Sir Padampat Singhania Admission Test (SPSAT); the exam dates have not been announced by the college administration yet, but we have it on good authority that the exam registration process would start in April 2019 and last until June 2019.



As for the exam date, its been kept flexible; applicants can appear for the SPSAT within ten days after completing registration process. However, we advise that you go through the eligibility criteria before applying; the candidate must have passed 10+2 with Science from a recognized board. The online exam will be of one hour consisting of 40 questions (MCQs), with varying sections including Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology, as per the course opted for. SPSAT Eligibility for various UG/PG courses

Nationality / Citizenship: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

BTech: students must have passed in 10+2 science or its equivalent examination from a recognised board (Preferably above 60%).

BBA: Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board/University.

BCom (H): Candidates must have passed class 12th in commerce stream or equivalent from a recognised board/University.

BHM: Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board/University.

MBA: Candidates must have completed their graduation or equivalent in any stream from a recognised University.

MCA: Candidates must have completed their graduation in Computers/BCA/Science or equivalent in any stream from a recognised University.

MTech: Candidates must have completed their BTech or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognised University.

MSc: Candidates must have completed their BSc or equivalent in related subjects from a recognised University.

  • Online test will be of 40 marks.

SPSAT Syllabus for various UG/PG courses

BTECH: Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology/Mathematics for SPSAT 2019. The level expected here is of Cass 12.

MTECH: Syllabus for this course varies according to the specialization a candidate is opting for. Currently, SPSU provides MTECH course in 6 different streams. The questions here will be of graduation level.

MCA: Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English. The questions here will be of graduation level.

MSC: Mathematics or Physics graduation level topics of the respective subject.

BCOM/BBA/BHM: Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English. The questions here will be of Class 12 level.

MBA: Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English. The questions here will be of graduation level.

Preparation tips for SPSAT Entrance Exam

·         You need to finish 4 sections of SPSAT Entrance Exam within an hour, which means you need speed with accuracy in order to attempt 40 questions in total. The more you practice, the better chances you have of acing this exam.

·         Remember negative marking is not a factor here. Therefore, try to attempt all questions.

·         Manage your time properly; give appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible. ·         Studying in a stretch for hours can be tedious and hard and also not so good. Therefore, try to study at several times in regular sessions during a day. This will make learning easy and fun, also you will have enough time to brush up the already studied topics in between intervals.

·         It is very important to maintain proper health, so you don’t fall sick on the big day. Give your brain appropriate time to refresh itself. Don’t rush too much information into your head than its limit allows. Take it slow and steady. And get at least eight hours of sleep each night.
