The university is known to conduct a Management Admission Test (more commonly called SMAT); an aptitude exam and by clearing it eligible graduates gain admittance to MBA programmes at SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, which is part of SNU. The admission process is ongoing and the SMAT will be held in the month of June in the offline mode. After the results are out, those who have passed will be shortlisted through rounds of personal interviews and then the final merit list will be prepared. SMAT Eligibility

  • A candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from any of the recognized Universities, Deemed Universities, Institutions of National Importance or from a Professional Body including ICAI, ICSI, ICWAI, etc.
  • Candidates awaiting the result of the final year exam can also apply for the program. In such case, a conditional offer of admissions will be made subject to obtaining the minimum required scores in the final examination. You will be required to produce a certificate latest by 30 Nov, 2020 from the Principal/Registrar of your college/institute stating that you have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. The transcript of the final examination will have to be submitted at the Registrar's office latest by October 31, 2021.
  • Candidates can apply for admission based on the scores in one of these tests CAT 2018, 19 / NMAT 2018, 19/ XAT 2019, 20 / CMAT 2019,20/ Valid GMAT(2016 onwards) scores or appear for SMAT test.

 

SMAT 3 Step Selection Process

Step 1

Application: The candidate will need to fill a detailed application online in the prescribed through the SNU official website.

Candidates can apply for admission based on the score in one of these tests.

Step 3

Personal Interview: Based on the above two steps, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview.

 

SMAT Offline Exam Pattern

  • Three sections: Quantitative Apptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal & Reading Comprehension.
  • Each section will carry 20 questions
  • The duration of the test is 90 minutes
  • All three sections will have multiple choice questions and there will be no negative marking whatsoever.

General knowledge:  Current Affairs, Economics news, Current Affairs, Finance, History, Corporate News, Brand Punchlines, International Organisations, World Records, Awards and Prizes, Entertainment, Social Issues, Politics, Geography, Science, Books and Authors, Sports etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: Geometry, Algebra, HCF & LCM, Mensuration, Percentages, Commercial Maths, Partnership (Accounts), Permutation and Combination, Data Analysis, Averages, Ratio and Proportion, Profit & Loss, Number System, Work and Time, Time-Speed-Distance, In-equations Quadratic and linear equations, Geometric Progression etc.

Study Tips for SMAT (Management Aptitude Test)

  • Increase Speed: Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
