  • ​·         In TOEFL the reading skill, writing skill, speaking and listening skills are tested.
    ·         More than 10,000 colleges across 130 countries accept TOEFL score for admissions.
    ·         The validity of TOEFL Score is 2 years.
    ·         There are two ways in which a candidate can give TOEFL – Internet-based test and paper-delivered test
    ·         There are four sections in TOEFL.
    ·         First is reading which consists of 3-4 passages with a total of 50 questions and time allotted is 55 minutes.
    · The second section is listening. These questions consist of 6-9 audio passages which will be played and the student has to attempt questions by listening to the passage. This section is 30-40 min long.
    · The third section is speaking and consists of six tasks. In this section, the ability of a candidate to speak English spontaneously is tested. A candidate should be able to convey their ideas clearly and coherently.
    · The last section is writing where taker's ability to write in an academic setting is tested.

  • TOEFL iBT test Structure 

    Knowledge / skills tested: Reading, listening, speaking and writing of the English language.
    Purpose: To assess the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers.
    Duration of Internet-based test (iBT): 3 hours 10 minutes to 4 hours 20 minutes (excluding 10-minute break in-between).
    No. of Questions: 107 Objective type questions.
    Syllabus Covered:  Syllabus of TOEFL Test Listening, Reading, Speaking & Writing.Reading section will cover 3 or 4 passages from academic test. Listening section will cover questions from Listening lectures, classroom conversations, & discussions. Speaking section will cover topics from familiar Topic, speak based on reading & Listening. Writing section will cover Topics from Essay writing & based on reading & Listening Task.
    Marking Scheme:  Different marking scheme for each section and there is no negative marking.
