Written Exam Pattern

The total duration of the test will be 75 minutes.

The written exam will contain 55 questions for 55 marks.

One mark will be awarded for the correct answer.

There is no negative marking.

The written test/exam will have three sections; Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal and Technical.

  • Quantitative Aptitude section will have 12 questions for 1 mark each.
  • Verbal section will have 8 questions for 1 mark each.
  • Technical section will have 35 questions for 1 marks each.

Syllabus: HP Recruitment

Verbal English 
This section covers all the basic grammar questions which includes fill in the blanks, phrases,sentence completion. This section consists of short reading comprehension passages.

Quantitative Ability
This section covers the questions from the topic such as algebra,time & work, speed & distance, arithmetic, percentages, probability, permutation & combination, profit & loss, HCF, LCM, geometry etc.
It also checks the analytical ability by designing blood related questions, puzzles,statements and argumentation, coding-decoding,data sufficiency and pattern recognition.

Technical
This section involves questions from Computer concepts and C language.  These questions are quite tough and it requires well preparation.

Tips for HP Written Paper/Exam

•             You need speed to finish the HP Recruitment Test within prescribed time limit. Go through the topics in the syllabus and start with the ones that you are good at. Practise reasoning and mathematics problems by memorising formulas.

•             After each study session keep 1/2 hour for revision of topics learned/practised.

•             Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But don’t attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, only attempt the questions that you are sure of.

•             Manage your time properly; give appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
