Tips to crack IBPS PO prelim exam
If you go through the IBPS PO prelims exam pattern, you will see that there are three sections - English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude which are there in the Main exam as well. The Mains exam has three more additional sections, namely General Awareness, Computer Aptitude (merged with Reasoning Ability), and a descriptive section (Letter Writing and Essay).
It is advisable, not to get confused with the Data Analysis & Interpretation section in the Mains exam. Preparing for the Quantitative Aptitude section will help you for this section.
Useful Tips:
English Language: The syllabus for this section is same for both Prelims and Mains. So, no extra effort is required for Mains. Same holds good for the Reasoning Ability section.
Quantitative Aptitude: This section needs application of lot of formulas and shortcuts (Profit & Loss, Average, Simple & Compound Interest, etc). Whereas the Data Analysis & Interpretation of the Main exam has more to do with charts, graphs, etc.
General Awareness and Descriptive section: Reading (newspapers, magazines, books, etc) these will help you in both the subjects, as it helps in the Comprehension test as well as in brushing up your basic grammatical knowledge.
Computer Aptitude: This is the easiest section and spending only an hour after the Prelims examination will help you
to score well in this section.
