    The foremost thing that the aspirant looks for before appearing for the exam is they are eligible for the exam or not. CAT Eligibility seems to be not changed for years; the graduate aspirants of any age can apply for the exam. The academic criteria require the aspirant to have score a minimum of 50% in graduation.

    The eligibility defines the basic requirements for the part. The eligibility comprises three crucial factors, age limit, educational qualifications, and nationality. But for CAT, the academic qualifications have an elaborated part with the aspirants of final year in graduation, aspirants with backlogs in graduation.

    CAT is one of the competitive exams that are held in India apart from JEE Advanced, NEET, UPSC, Railway Recruitment, so requires extensive preparations, Y4W CAT Mock Test Series.     1.       What is the age limit for CAT?

    The aspirants will happy to know that there is no such age limit; the graduates can appear for the exam at any age they wish to. The postgraduate programs generally don’t have the age limit to consider upon.
     
    2.       What are the academic qualifications for CAT?

    The aspirants lie in the following categories for CAT: Aspirants who are in the final year of graduation and Aspirants who have backlogs in their graduation. There is criteria for the aspirants to fulfill one of the following to be eligible:
    ·         The aspirant must have completed the Bachelor’s Degree in a 3 or 4-year manner, recognized by MHRD, AICTE, or UGC. The minimum academic criteria are that the aspirant must have scored 50% marks in his/her graduation.

    **There is a relaxation of 5% marks for the reserved category aspirants, SC/ST/PwD aspirants.

    ·         The aspirants with the backlogs in their graduation are eligible to apply for CAT as there is no mention in the IIMCAT prospectus about the backlogs.
    ·         The marks criteria remain the same for even for the aspirants with a backlog that is 50%, no aspirant is eligible who will not fulfill any of the aforementioned criteria.
    ·         The candidates who have completed the professional courses (CA/CS/ICWA) with 50% marks and 45 % for the reserved category candidates are eligible for CAT.

    The reservation in the seats is also available for the reserved category aspirants, the percentage of reservation is:
    1. Scheduled Caste candidates: 15% share of seats
    2. Scheduled Tribe candidates: 7.5% share of seats
    3. Non-Creamy OBC candidates: 27% share of seats
    4. Person with Disability candidates: 3% share of seats

    3.       What is the Nationality for CAT:

    The candidate appearing for CAT can be the citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetian refugee with the intent of permanently settling in India.
