  • US Citizenship Test, which is also known as The American Civics Test/U.S. Civics Test, is a mandatory examination that all the immigrants have to pass to be eligible for the United States citizenship. The Citizenship Test is designed to evaluate if a candidate has the sufficient knowledge of American culture, values, history, traditions, everyday life and proficiency of the English language. The test is known to be in English language and the passing criteria is to score 60% marks or above. This test has also been made mandatory for all high school students in America to pass before their graduation. There is a total of 100 questions in The American Civics Test. Each high school student has to answer all the 100 questions regarding topics like U.S. history, constitution and government to complete high school graduation. Whereas a candidate who is seeking naturalization (citizenship) in the United States will be asked only 10 questions randomly selected from the 100 questions. The candidate will have to get at least 6 questions right to pass the exam. The Test is conducted by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

USCIS has changed some of the norms of application for US citizenship, hence candidates must first go through the contents of revised sections before filling the Application for Naturalization (US Citizenship Test).
