OICL (Oriental Insurance Company Limited) having a regional office of more than 30 Regional Offices and 1800 branches all over India. OICL is a public sector non - life insurance company. OICL has released 300 vacancies for Assistant Officers (AO). Those candidates can apply who are graduates from recognized university/institution. The selection process will be of three phases- Online Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview. The online preliminary exam will be of one hour and will have three sections- Reasoning Ability, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. To Prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt OICL AO Exam previous year question papers.

OICL AO Recruitment: Exam Pattern for Prelims

  • Preliminary online test (CBT) will be of 100 marks.
  • The exam will have 100 MCQs type questions.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 60 minutes.
  • The medium of language of the questions will be Hindi and English
  • Sections in the exam: Three
    • Reasoning for 35 marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude for 35 marks
    • English Language for 30 marks

OICL AO Recruitment: Exam pattern for Mains Final

  • Mains online test (CBT) will be of 200 marks.
  • The exam will have 200 MCQs type questions.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
  • The medium of language of the questions will be Hindi and English.
  • Sections in the exam for Generalists: Four
    • Reasoning Ability for 50 marks
    • English Language for 50 marks
    • General Awareness for 50 marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude for 50 marks
  • Sections in the exam for Specialists: Five
    • Reasoning Ability for 40 marks
    • English Language for 40 marks
    • General Awareness for 40 marks

  • There will be separate descriptive papers for English Language (Letter writing and essay) which will have 2 subjective type question of 30 marks for 30 minutes.

  • First- the candidates will have to appear for an Online Preliminary Test that would be of 100 marks.
  • Second- those who qualify the Preliminary Test will be shortlisted for Mains Test which would be of 200 marks.

Preparation tips for OICL AO Recruitment: For Prelims/ Mains Exam
 

  • You need to finish three sections of OICL AO Prelims within 60 minutes, which means you need speed with accuracy in order to attempt 100 questions in total. The more you practice, the better chances you have of acing this exam.

  • Make mathematics and reasoning your strong subjects, practice questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. You should lay emphasis not on mugging up the formulas but instead try understanding the concepts, so, you can modify the formulas according to the question requirement.

  • Remember negative marking is not a factor here. Therefore, try to attempt all the questions. Although the prelim exam will be of just qualifying nature and won’t be considered for the final merit list as only Main exam marks will matter, you still need to secure the minimum qualifying marks in the prelims as set by the OICL.

  • Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
