IB (Intelligence Bureau) will be releasing official notification for the post-ACIO (Assistant Central Intelligence Officer). ACIO is an executive post for Grade- II and Group C. The eligible and interested candidates can apply for the same on the official website of IB. As per the eligibility criteria, the aspirant needs to graduate from a recognized university/institution. The selection process will consist of three rounds- Tier I, Tier II, and Interview.  To Prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt IB ACIO Exam previous year question papers.

Eligibility for IB ACIO Recruitment 2020

Nationality / Citizenship: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

Age of the candidate:

Minimum Age: 18 years

Maximum Age: 27 years

 Age relaxation:

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe - 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes - 3 years

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.
  • The candidate needs to have computer knowledge.

IB ACIO Recruitment 2020: Exam Pattern for Tier I

  • Tier I online test (CBT) will be of 100 marks.
  • The exam will have 100 MCQs type questions.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 60 minutes
  • The medium of language of the questions will be Hindi and English
  • Sections in the exam: Four
  • The reasoning for 25 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude for 25 marks
  • English Language for 25 marks
  • General Awareness for 25 marks
  • Marking scheme: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer and 1 mark will be allotted for each right. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

 

IB ACIO Recruitment 2020: Exam pattern for Tier II

  • Mains online test (CBT) will be of 50 marks.
  • Total duration of the exam will be 60 minutes.
  • Sections in the exam: Two
    • Essay Writing for 30 marks
    • English Comprehension for 20 marks

Selection process: IB ACIO Recruitment 2020

  • First- the candidates will have to appear for an Online Tier I Test that would be of 100 marks.
  • Second- those who qualify the Tier I Test will be shortlisted for Tier II Test that would be of 50 marks.
  • Third- those who qualify Tier II will be followed by Interview.

Preparation tips for IB ACIO Recruitment 2020: For Tier I/Tier II

You need to finish three sections of Tier I within 60 minutes, which means you need speed with accuracy in order to attempt 100 questions in total. The more you practice, the better chances you have of acing this exam.
Make mathematics and reasoning your strong subjects, practice questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. You should lay emphasis not on mugging up the formulas but instead try understanding the concepts, so, you can modify the formulas according to the question requirement.
Remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, try not to attempt questions that put you in doubt. Although, the Tier I exam will be of just qualifying nature and won’t be considered for the final merit list as only Tier II exam marks will matter,but you still need to secure the minimum qualifying marks in the prelims as set by the IB.
Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
