  • Recruitment Process :
    HP conducts 4-5 rounds to select freshers as a software developer in their organisation.
    Written Round
    Technical Round 1
    Technical Round 2
    Technical Round 3
    HR Round
    Academic Criteria :
    60 percent or above in B.Tech, Class X and XII.
    No backlogs at the time of interview
    Written Round :
    The Written round consists of three major sections namely General Aptitude Test and Verbal Ability Test and Technical Test. General Aptitude Test, has mathematical reasoning part and logical reasoning part and verbal ability Test.
    Technical Rounds:
    The students who clear the written round are called for Technical Interview. To clear this round you should be clear with your basics. You should be prepared with Data structures and Algorithms, DBMS, Operating System, Networking, OOPs concepts. Students from branches other than CS should prepare for other two subjects related to their branch. Students will be expected to write codes in the interview. They also ask questions from resume. You may be asked puzzles in this round. To be prepared for puzzles you can practice from our Puzzles section.
    Tips :
    1. Don’t mention anything on the CV which you cannot defend.
    2. Do not mention any term which you don’t know about, the interviewers quickly catch it and asks question about it.
    HR / Managerial Round
    You can expect general HR questions in this round like:
    1. Tell me about Yourself
    2. Why HP ?
    3. How you see yourself after five years from now ?
    4. What are your strengths and weaknesses ?
    5. What are your failures?
    6. Any plan for higher studies?
    7. Questions form resume


  • HP Recruitment test syllabus 2018 ; Quantitative Ability - 12 questions, Verbal - 8 questions, Technical - 35 questions Total -55 questions. There is no negative marking in the paper. Details: English Languagesection consists of short reading comprehension passages. This section also consists of basic grammar usage questions like fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, paragraph completion, error based, vocabulary, sentence ordering etc. Quantitative Ability section consists of questions from the topics like algebra, time & work, time, speed & distance, arithmetic, percentages, probability, permutation & combination, profit & loss, HCF, LCM, geometry, etc. This section is of moderate level. Technical section involved questions from Computer concepts and C language. This section was tough and required thorough preparation. A person whose basics are clear could easily excel in this section.

    HP Written Exam Pattern

    The total duration of the test will be 75 minutes.

    The written exam will contain 90 questions for 90 marks.

    One mark will be awarded for the correct answer.

    There will be penalty for the wrong answers, every wrong answer will be penalized by 0.25 % negative marking.

    The written test/exam will have three sections; Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal and Technical.

    ·         Quantitative Aptitude section will have 50 questions for 1 mark each.

    ·         Verbal section will have 10 questions for 1 mark each.

    ·         Technical section will have 30 questions for 1 marks each.

    Candidates should note that the written exam pattern is subject to change as per the norms of HP hiring policy.
