MH CET Exam: Pattern and Previous Year Papers Download



Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) is conducted for admissions to first year Engineering, Technology programmes (BE/BTech), Pharmacy programmes (BPharma/DPharma) by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). Since 2013, the exam was being conducted on the basis of JEE Main. However, the exam is postponed. The exam is conducted in an online mode (Computer Based Test), where the test duration is of 180 minutes. The exam happens in three papers: Physics and Chemistry, Botany and Zoology and Mathematics. For thorough practice, candidates must attempt MH CET previous year question papers also.

Eligibility

  • Indian National
  • No Age limit
  • General- 50% in 12th class or equivalent exam from recognized board/ university
  • SC/ST/OBC- 45% in 12th class or equivalent exam from recognized board/ university
  • Must have studied Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.

Exam Pattern

MH CET Exam pattern consists of 200 questions for 300 marks. The time duration is of 3 Hrs. This is a  state level examination. The exam happens in 3 papers, which follows as:

1 (PCM Group) 180 (Minutes) Physics & Chemistry Mathematics 
2 (PCB Group) 180 (Minutes) Physics & Chemistry Biology

  • Physics- Measurement, Scalars and Vectors, Force, Friction in Solids and Liquids, Refraction of Light, Ray Optics, Magnetic Effect of Electric Current, Magnetism.
  • Chemistry- Gases and Liquids, Redox Reaction, Surface Chemistry. Nature Of Chemical Bond, Hydrogen, S-Block Elements (Alkali And Alkaline Earth Metals), Basic Principles and Techniques in Organic Chemistry, Alkanes.
  • Botany- Diversity in organisms, Biochemistry of cell, Plant Water Relations and Mineral Nutrition, Plant Growth and Development.
  • Zoology- Organization of Cell, Animal Tissues, Human Nutrition, Human Respiration.
  • Mathematics- Trigonometric Functions, Trigonometric Functions of Compound Angles, Factorization Formulae, Straight Line, Circle and Conics, Sets, Relations and Functions, Probability, Sequences and Series

 

Tips and Tricks

  • Candidates must attempt questions carefully, as there is 1/3rd negative marking.
  • Keep confident and particular while attempting interview rounds.
