AFCAT invites the application for the Short Service Commission in Indian Air Force for both male and female aspirants. The candidates should fill the details in the application form carefully as any false information will lead to the cancellation of the candidature, the selection board at any moment if found the candidate ineligible for the post can straight away cancel the application of the particular candidate.

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) has released the notification for the courses to be commenced in July 2021 for Flying Branch, Ground Staff (Technical and Non-Technical) on June 10, 2020. The aspirants that are applying for the posts should not miss any important event, AFCAT Exam Dates, the online exam will be conducted on September 19 - 20, 2020.
 

AFCAT complete eligibility criteria is mentioned here:

1.      Age Limit:

The candidates must ensure that they must be in the dedicated age group as on July 01, 2021. The criteria are different for the Flying Branch and Ground Staff (Technical and Non-Technical)
 
• Flying Branch: The minimum age of the candidate required is 20 years and the maximum age is 24 years.
• Ground Staff (Technical/Non-Technical): The minimum age of the candidate required is 20 years and the maximum age is 26 years.

2.       Educational Qualifications:

The required educational qualifications for the Flying Branch are:

•  The candidate must have secured 60% in 10+2 level with Physics and Mathematics as the core subjects along with Graduation degree (any Stream 3-year course)/BE/BTech with a minimum of 60% from any recognized university.
                                 OR
•  The candidate must have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with an aggregate of 60%.

• The final year students are eligible only if there are no backlogs at AFSB Testing timing and provide the provisional degree certificate issued by the University.

The educational qualifications required for the Ground Staff (Technical Post):

•  For Electronics: The candidates must have secured 60% in 10+2 level with Physics and Mathematics as the subjects along with 4-year Bachelor’s Degree/ Integrated PG qualification in Engineering or Technology with 60% from a recognized university.
                                    OR
·• The candidate must have cleared Section A & B exam of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with an aggregate of 60%.

For Mechanical: The candidates must have secured 60% in 10+2 level with Physics and Mathematics as the subjects along with 4-year Bachelor’s Degree/ Integrated PG qualification in Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering/ Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 60% from a recognized university.

The educational qualifications required for the Ground Staff (Non-Technical Post):

• The candidate must have secured 60% in Graduation from any stream or 50% in Post Graduation Degree from any stream.
                                                      OR
• The candidate must have cleared Section A & B exam of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with an aggregate of 60%.

3.       Nationality required for AFCAT:

The candidates who are applying for the Indian Air Force should be Indian, no foreign national is allowed to apply for the AFCAT.

4.       Marital Status required for AFCAT:

The candidates who are below the age of 25 years must be unmarried, and any candidate who gets married after being successful at AFCAT Written Test or AFCAT Interview or Medical Examination will not be eligible for the training.

•  The candidates who will get married during the course of AFCAT training will be liable to get disqualified and will have to return all the amount Government has paid on the candidate.

•  The candidates who are married before applying for AFCAT are considered eligible but they won't be given the benefit of accommodation or living with the family.
