What is center of buoyancy ? How it is calculated?

In FM- Fluid mechanics or HM- Hydraulic machines center of buoyancy is used. How is is calculated and what is its significance ?

  • Hello Dear, Instead of looking at all of the forces caused by the hydrostatic pressure, it's mathematically simpler to look at the pressure acting across the entire surface as a single force acting at a single point. That single point is called the center of buoyancy.
