  • NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) are same. AIPMT has been replaced by NEET exam along with other state level medical entrance tests since 2016. The purpose of both the exams is same (selecting students for admissions into undergraduate medical and dental courses), there are few difference in the structure of the exams. In AIPMT, there are two stages of examinations – Prelims and Mains. Those students who qualify Prelims were eligible to appear for Mains and then the admissions were done on the basis of their performance in both the exams. However, NEET is a single paper exam.
Another difference between both the exams is AIPMT was conducted for only 15% All-India-Quota seats; however, NEET is conducted for 100% medical seats of which 15% is for All-India-Quota and 85% is for state quota.

  • Yes there is a difference,NEET is a national level single medical entrance exam conducted by CBSE. Eligible candidates can apply for MBBS and BDS admissions. The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance (AIPMT) was an annual medical entrance exam admission for medical and dental courses like MBBS and BDS.NEET covers a larger range of seats in the medical colleges. NEET is a centralised exam unlike AIPMT.
