    XAT is considered to be a relatively difficult exam when compared to others but the exam is more tricky than difficult. The difficulty level for English has also came down in the recent years.
    Now let’s talk about what can be the perfect strategy for XAT,
    You have 180 minutes to attempt the paper and you can move from one section to another easily which makes the exam interesting because now you can decide as to what time should be allotted to every section.
    So the first step for cracking XAT would be to determine the amount of timeyou are going to spend on every section. This is subjective mainly because it will depend upon your comfort level in the various sections and your preparations. Personally I took the approach that I will get done with quant first and I spent about 75 minutes and then I spent another 60 minutes on Decision making and the remaining 45 minutes on Verbal Ability. I used this strategy mainly because I wanted to score well in the other two sections and just clear the cut off for verbal. Thus, you can have various permutation and combinations of this type in order to find the allocation you feel you can score maximum from.
    Second Step would be the preparations for Decision Making, probably the make or break section in XAT. Mainly because Quant and Verbal Preparation are pretty similar and mostly all students have some strategy or method to solve them but this section is new and completely changes the scene. Thus, always be well prepared for Decision making. Practice with whatever material you have and get accustomed with it. Also, answer these questions on your instincts and don't think too much on them because the more you think the more you will be confused.
    Third Step Read the questions properly because XAT gives you ample time for every question. Thus, don't always be in a hurry while solving, read each and every question carefully, understand it and then solve it.
    Fourth Step Prepare for GK and Essays thoroughly . I was personally burned because of this section. So, I will strongly recommend you that you prepare you well for this section. Keep writing at least one essay per day and stay updated with current affairs. This section is easy but you need to be at least updated with the news. This section is very important when it comes to PI and interview.
