RRB Exam Pattern, Insights and Details:



According to the notification released by the Indian Railways on 12th March 2019, a total of 1,03,679 vacancies will be filled by the Railway Group D Recruitment drive. The recruitment offers posts in Level 1 of 7 with CPC Pay Matrix. The vacancies so released by RRB will absorb candidates in big numbers for government jobs divided among 19 cities of India. All the information about Railway Group D Recruitment is available on RRB official website. The application has to be filled online only. The online application has been closed on 26th April 2019. Aspirants who haven’t filled the application form till now can visit the official website and fill it before the last date. If you have passed 10th class or ITI or its equivalent examination and you are willing to work in the government sector then you can fill the online application form at RRB official website. Candidates who are still waiting for their results are also eligible to apply. The minimum age to apply is 18 years and maximum age is 33 years. The age relaxation will be as per government norms. Candidates who have successfully registered for this exam can download their admit cards from the official website of railway RRB for the first stage of recruitment, that is, CBT (Computer Based Test). Once you clear the first stage of CBT, you’ll be taken to the next stage of PET (Physical Efficiency Test). Admit cards for both the exams will be given separately to the candidates. And admit card for PET will be given only if you clear the first stage. The recruitment will be based on CBT and PET scores. The computer-based test will be of 90 minutes for 100 marks consisting of following sections: Mathematics, General intelligence, and reasoning, General awareness, General science. It should be observed that RRB has now made it mandatory for all candidates to have Aadhaar Card as a document proof, so those who don’t have Aadhar should get to work. To Prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt Railway Group D Exam previous year question papers.

RRB Group D Selection Procedure:​

 

The aspirants looking up for a career in the Indian Railways, Railway Recruitment Board has shared the notifications for the recruitment of candidates for the Group D level. The recruitment exam is being conducted for about 1.03 Lakh vacancies released in the year 2019. The exam is scheduled for December 15, 2020.  The applications were available from March 12 to April 12, 2019.

The vacancies released are for the various Railway Zones; they can be posted according to the requirements. The selection procedure for the RRB/RRC Group D vacancy include four major stages; the stages are:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  3. Verification of documents

  4. Medical Examination of the selected candidates

The aspirants must be fit and eligible for the post in both the terms that are the educational, age, and nationality criteria for the PET and medical examination. They must check the Physical Efficiency Test details as clearing CBT alone will not assure the job post. The candidate must ensure that they are capable of every stage of the examination.

 

What is the RRB/RRC Group D Exam Date?

RRB Group D Recruitment Exam in the year 2020 will be for the notification released in 2019; check out the important events for the examination here:

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria

In the recruitment examination conducted by RRB on behalf of RRC for filling the posts in various Railway Zones of Level 1 Group D posts, there is an age barrier that states that the candidate must be between 18 – 33 years of age. The applicant must have qualified 10th examination from the Government recognized Institution/Board/NCVT/SCVT for the RRB Group D Post. The RRB/RRC Group D Eligibility Criteria is defined here:

1. Age Limit:

  • The applicants must have completed 18 years of age to apply for the post.
  • There is a restriction to the upper age that is 33 years for the general category and OBC Non-Creamy Layer Candidates.
  • The reserved category applicants are provided with the relaxation to the age:
    • UR Category: 33 years
    • OBC category: 36 years
    • SC category: 38 years
    • ST category: 38 years

2. ​​​Educational Qualifications:​

  • The applicants must have qualified 10th examination from the recognized Institution, Board/NCVT/SCVT.
  • The applicants have to present the authentic certificate of passing the examination as the authorities have the right to cancel the candidate’s application if any discrepancy is found in the documents.

3. Nationality:

  • The applicants from the various nations who have settled in India with the motive of permanent settlement here are eligible for the job post.
  • The nations are Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia, and Vietnam. The applicants who have migrated or settled in India according to the rules of the Government of India are eligible for the job.​

Tips for RRB Group D Recruitment Exam

  • You need speed to finish CBT within the prescribed time limit. Go through the topics in the CLAT information brochure and start with the ones that you are good at. Practice reasoning and mathematics problems by memorizing formulas.

  • After each study session keeps 1 hour for revision of topics learned/ practiced.

  • Make mathematics your strong suit, practice questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. The trick here is to mug up math formulas by heart, so they come in handy while solving a problem.

  • Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But don’t attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, only attempt a question if you really know the answer to.

  • Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
