RBI Office Attendant Admit Card Exam, Syllabus, and Pattern



RBI conducts exam for the post Office Attendant, also known as Assistant every year. It is counted in the list of National Level Exams. According to the 926 vacancies, RBI conducts the Preliminary and Mains Exam to test the knowledge and skills of the applicant applied for the post. Any candidate is eligible if a graduate from a recognized University holding a Bachelors' Degree in any discipline. Registration begins from the month of December 2019 and continued till January 2020. The application can be filled online. Do not forget to attach all the documents and read the instructions carefully. The age limit is between 21 years to 28 years for the beginners' post that is Assistant, after onwards, the age limit of 34 years is applicable for other posts. Both Males and Females can apply for the post but application fees only vary in the categories. For General Category along with the OBC, The application fees online are Rs. 450 and for SC/ST/Person with disabilities is Rs. 50.

RBI Assistant Preliminary Exam Pattern:

The Online Examination will be for 200 marks. The duration of the exam is 1 hour. The marking scheme of the same is given below:-

  • English Language carrying 30 marks
  • Numerical Ability carrying 35 marks
  • Reasoning Ability carrying 35 marks

A candidate must qualify in each part of the Objective test separately. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.

Eligibility with Promotion and Career Growth:

Career growth of an assistant in RBI takes place after a two-year service (minimum) as a clerk with a JAIIB and CAIIB diploma conducted by Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) is must with graduate/post graduate degree. The promotion followed by Grade A till Grade C which is the last promotion are as follows:-

  • Scale 1 – Officer / Assistant Manager (Grade A)
  • Scale 2 – Manager (Grade B)
  • Scale 3 – Senior Manager (Grade C)
  • Scale 4 – Chief Manager (Grade D)

The Basic Salary is Rs. 14,600 for RBI Office Assistant and could get increased by Rs. 50,000 and above till the last scale.
