UPSEE: Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Syllabus and Previous Year Papers 



UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) is conducted in place of UPTU that was earlier the engineering entrance test. UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University) is now commonly known as Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Technical University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering, architecture, hotel management, pharmacy and many more. An online entrance exam is conducted for engineering B.tech, B.pharma, Hotel Management, Fashion & apparel design technology. It is a national level examination. As currently 785 colleges and institutions are affiliated with the university. There can be numerous options for the engineering courses as many of the colleges affiliated to the university offers the course. Candidates should appear in the entrance exam UPSEE for the admission. The candidate must fulfill the eligibility criteria in order to apply for UPTU exam. Candidates are advised to practice UPTU Engineering previous years' papers to crack the examination.

UPSEE Exam Pattern:

UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) will be conducted in the offline mode that will consist of 8 papers. The papers will have questions from different subjects as the combination of subjects are set in each paper. The applicants at the time of filling the application form will be asked for the paper they are appearing for. The marking scheme says that no deductions for the incorrect answers and +4 marks for every correct answer.

The offline exam will be conducted across 70 cities in India on September 20, 2020. The candidates can check the entire UPSEE 2020 Exam Dates to not miss any of the important events. The UPSEE registration will be conducted in the online mode as due to the lockdown period, the registration window has been opened again from July 29, 2020, till August 05, 2020. The applicants must ensure that they meet UPSEE Eligibility CriteriaThe exam pattern varies for each paper as the admission is for various courses. The complete exam pattern for UPSEE is mentioned here.

  • Paper 1 will contain 150 objective questions from Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics (50 questions from each subject). The paper will be for 600 marks.

  • Paper 2 will contain 150 objective questions from Chemistry, Physics, and Biology (50 questions from each subject). The paper will be for 600 marks.

  • Paper 3 will be the Aptitude Test for Architecture and Design, It will contain 150 objective questions. The 50 questions will be asked from Aesthetic Sensitivity and 50 from Mathematics, 2 questions will test the drawing aptitude of the applicants. The paper will be for 600 marks.

  • Paper 4 will be the General Awareness Aptitude Test (BFA/BHMCT/BFAD/ MBA (Integrated)) with 100 MCQs that will make it the paper for 400 marks.

  • Paper 5 will be an Engineering Aptitude Test (for Lateral Entry in Engineering and MCA) with 100 objective type questions. The paper will be for 400 marks.

  • Paper 6 is an Aptitude test for MCA /MBA admission. 100 Mcqs for 400 marks will be in the paper.

  • Paper 7 will be the Aptitude test for Pharmacy Diploma Holders with 100 MCQs for 400 marks.

  • Paper 8 will have 100 objective questions for the Aptitude Test of Diploma Holders to have Lateral Entry in Engineering. The paper will be for 400 marks.

  1. Mode of Examination: Offline for all 8 papers

  2. Medium of Exam: English, Hindi

  3. Duration of the online CUCET: 3 hours (180 Minutes)

  4. Total number of Questions: 150, 100

  5. 4 marks will be granted for every correct answer and no marks will be subtracted for the wrong answer and unattempted questions.

  6. Maximum marks for the exam: 600, 400 marks

  7. For admission in BTech, Paper 1, 2 and 3 will be conducted while Paper 5 can be attempted to have the lateral entry in the 2nd year of engineering

  8. The time duration of Paper 5 is 90 minutes.

  9. Thee UPSEE score will be accepted by 262 colleges.

The syllabus for the UPSEE has been provided by the AKTU on the official website for every particular subject from which questions will be asked in 8 papers. The topics will be covered from Chemistry, Physics, mathematics, biology, Botany, Zoology and such more subjects.

Topics from Measurement, Linear momentum & collisions, Oscillatory motion, Mechanics of solids and fluids, Wave optics, Heat and thermodynamics, Motion in one dimension, Wave, Current electricity, Electrostatics, Laws of motion.

  • Chemistry-

Topics from Atomic structure, Chemical Equilibrium and kinetics, Electrochemistry, Catalysis, Colloids, Colligative properties of the solution, Preparation and properties, General organic chemistry, General organic chemistry, Redox reactions, Acid-base concepts, etc.

  • Mathematics-
