GATE Computer Science Exam Preparation



GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an online exam that examines mainly the overall understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering & science. It is a national level examination. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in B.tech/B.E./ B.pharma, Science, B.sc research from recognized University. The GATE Computer Science is divided into 10 sections. These tests check the mental ability to take technical pressures. There are a total of 65 questions to be attempted in 180 minutes, where there is 1/3rd negative marking as well. The application form for GATE Computer Science will release from 3 Sep 2019 and available till 5 October 2019. The admit cards will be available at 3 January, 2020. To prepare well, candidates are advised to attempt GATE Computer Science previous years' question papers.

GATE Computer Science: Eligibility

  • Candidate must hold bachelors degree in B.tech/B.E./B.pharma from recognized university
  • Candidate must hold 75% in 10th and 12th grade.
  • Candidate must be from Science stream.

GATE Computer Science: Exam Pattern

GATE Computer Science examination is of 10 sections. It consists of 65 questions for a duration of 3 hours. The questions are objective type but with 1/3rd negative marking.

The GA section includes five queries carrying one mark every (sub-total five marks) and 5 queries carrying 2-marks every (sub-total ten marks)

Question 1 to 25: One mark every ( Negative marking 1/3rd ) Question

Question 26 to 55: 2 mark every ( Negative marking 2/3rd ) Question

Question 56 to 65: General power ( total fifteen marks ) : ( Negative marking 1/3rd for One marks & 2/3rd for 2 mark ) Question

Question 56 to 60: One mark every Question

Question 61 to 65: 2 mark every Question
